Saffron Ice Cream shares Rashin’s experience visiting Coney Island for the first time after moving to the United States from Iran. Rashin is looking forward to visiting the beach in her new town because she is hoping to meet an new friend, and she fondly remembers trips to the beach on the beautiful Caspian Sea were like in her homeland of Iran. She loved listening to Persian music on the beach while sharing delicious saffron ice cream with her best friend, Azadeh. Rashin misses her homeland, but she is enjoying her new town especially the subway and all the fun music. After arriving at the beach, Rashin is sad to learn that saffron ice cream isn’t sold on the new beach. Fortuneatly, he sadness end quickly when a new friend, Aijah suggests that she try the delicious chocolate flavor. Rashin learns that chocolate ice cream is just as yummy as saffron ice cream.
